97 TONS OF MEMORIES
(1997 / 13:00 / colour / sound)
1997 – The year of Reunification, the year of memories: The end of the colonial dynasty, the birth of the SAR, the withdrawal of British troops, the arrival of the People’s Liberation Army… … The rise of a five stars flag instead of the Union Jack! All these images are still flashing inside my head. Witnessing the end of an era and the dawn of a new one, I kept recording the history through my little camera.
