Chun-yu Liu (Taiwan/UK) is a visual artist working with video investigating oral history and lived experience of the Chinese diaspora. Her practice is informed by her reading of Cultural Studies, personal Taiwanese background and exploration of the audiovisual medium.
She was a finalist to Neo:artprize in 2015 and shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2015 and 2016, in the UK. Liu holds an MFA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London. Originally she was trained as an abstract painter. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan and lives in London, UK.
